Sunyoung received a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Science from Korea University, where she fell into the fascinating world of microbiology. She then moved to Germany to explore antibiotic-resistant bacteria in agricultural settings. Joining the pathobiology PhD program in 2023, she hopes to investigate deeper into the role of the microbiome in different diseases. Outside the lab, she loves to sing songs, play piano, cook Korean food, and run at sunset.
